Historias ancestrales en tiempos digitales: narración digital, inteligencia artificial y educación patrimonial crítica en el aula ELE
Published in Alfabetización mediática y ciudadanía en la era digital y de la Inteligencia Artificial, 2026
This chapter (in Spanish) examines an experience developed in a university-level Spanish language and culture course in Canada, in which students worked with myths, legends, and urban legends from the Spanish-speaking world through digital storytelling, generative artificial intelligence, and narrative mapping. It argues that digital storytelling (DS), framed within a pedagogy of critical heritage education (CHE), can serve as a form of mediation through which students interpret, reinterpret, and narrate heritage based on their own experiences. In this regard, digital identity texts can function, as Pandhiani (2022, p. 1079) suggests, as channels for community communication, memory banks, and dynamic repositories of knowledge.
